8 Month Old Photo Shoot

Have I mentioned I have some really talented friends?

My sorority sister from University is a photographer and she got some amazing photos of Dylan and I.  I think she was able to get all of his many expressions at 8 months.

It was a hot day in april and we were pretty sweaty by the end of it but Dylan was a little trooper and held out.

8 Months

Your whole 8th month of life was spent in the USA meeting and getting to know the rest of your extended family.  You hit some pretty big mile stones while there and had to learn everything American in just 10 weeks.

You have so many sound effects with your mouth and love to babble while mommy sings to you.  You really enjoy music and still LOVE your Baby Einstein.  We have a routine in the mornings, mommy would wake up and come get you out of your crib, put you in her bed, turn on Einstein and you would drink your bottle.  Those were the best mornings...

Rocking out bath time!  You really enjoyed your baths :)
Hanging out in Austin for the first time with Daddy's highschool friends!

You are such a happy baby, always laughing, giggling, smiling, and engaging others.  You go to just about anyone and don't seem to attached to mommy just yet.

First trip to Georgetown

April 20th, 2012: 8 months 4 weeks

Dylan and I got brave and headed for a three hour road trip to see the Boerckel's in Georgetown for the weekend.  I have decided that Dylan likes his own bed and familiar surroundings, I guess that is all part of getting older?  He did great on the car ride as usual, sang a couple of songs for me and then passed out.  It was just the sleeping over night in a new place that really got him so one night he ended up in my bed, just for the sake of everyone else sleep....

I love getting together with these ladies!  And I love even more that their husband's are some of Dirk's best friends from highschool and we all still stay in touch even though we live pretty far apart!  I could go on and on what I love about these families; we all have kids now and close in age at that, it's so easy to get together with them "just like old times", and they understand the kid part and totally help out!!

We had a relaxing couple of days, didn't even get back in the car, just hung out in the backyard, drank margaritas, and watched the kids play.  The girls liked to take Dylan's pacifier and watch him cry... it actually was pretty funny!  We need to toughen this little guy up for sure!

Easter

April 8th, 2012: Easter Sunday in Katy

We started out the day at First United Methodist Church Katy.  Dylan did great during the service, he loved all the singing, and was even quiet!  He is such a noise maker these days, practicing his singing and going through all the octaves.

It was a low key Easter for us since my mom just had her cornea transplant the week before and is still recovering.  Actually recovery is almost 3 months long...

Dylan enjoyed teething on the Easter eggs and seem to like his new toys as well.  We wrapped up the day with a late home cooked brunch and an early bed time.  I can't see an tooth coming in but boy, the fussiness, drool, and sleeping is in overdrive these days!

Happy Easter, He has RISEN!
