My First Christmas

Christmas was a success!  We even managed to go to church... well two churches.  We started out at the Catholic church but soon realized it was children's mass and we weren't going to get a seat inside when it started to rain so we ended up walking across the street to the Baptist church in time for candle light Christmas songs.  Now that is Christmas and my favorite part of church... Silent Night in candle light.

Dylan got up at his usual 6AM so we started the skyping sessions with coffee... held out on breakfast so we could stuff ourselves with Christmas Day brunch goodness :)

Dylan seemed way into opening presents.  He watched Dirk open his Fischer Price Color and Shapes book with intense focus.  I think next year he will have it all down pat.  I have been buying him so many things... we only wrapped three of them.  One being the Leap Frog Play & Learn piano which was a total hit.

After opening presents we got dressed and headed to the Capella on Sentosa to brunch with our friends Chris Holmes and Justina.  Dylan did great through the whole brunch and even the after party.  Thankfully he will still nap in his stroller without too many issues.

Stamps, Stamps, Stamps for my passport

Koh Samui, Thailand

Yet another stamp for the little man in his passport.  This makes three, Indonesia, Australia, and now Thailand.  Traveling with a 4 month old was interesting to say the least.  It was a direct flight which was awesome and only an hour and half but it was at his bedtime which makes it a little more difficult.  He did great though, some bumps along the way but for the most part it was smooth sailing...

I had the forethought to get a hotel room with a pool and big enough that we could all move around in freely.  It was awesome, Dirk and I hung out at our own pool while Dylan napped inside!  Such a relaxing holiday with room service, wine by the pool, and a gorgeous view of the sunset.

Dylan had a couple of firsts on the trip.  He got into the swimming pool, well his feet did, it was a little too cold for him to swim.  We used the bath tub instead for his blow up frog and he had a blast.  Also stuck his feet in the ocean an let waves hit him for the first time.  He seemed to really enjoy that.  And yes, we might be crazy, but he took his first elephant ride.

In true Thai fashion all the hotel staff loved him, they love babies in general.  We never had a problem with him coming to dinner or being bored, they even taught him some Muay Thai moves one night.

It was a great family vacation... can't wait to do it again in New Zealand.

Who doesn't love being naked?

Pool villa is the only way to go with a baby

Pool was too cold so we took the frog to the bath tub

Happy Feet!!!

We have really found our feet and LOVE playing with them. I usually find him after a nap happily playing with his feet, maybe even without the socks on.

We are almost rolling over too, just on our side for now.

Today's stats:

Weight: 12 pound 6 ounces
Height: 24 inches

About to leave for Thailand and get into the swimming pool for the first time!

Almost rolling over!
This is what we do when we don't want to take a nap!
So far the left foot is the favorite

Firsts at 4 months

We have been busy this week! We are slowly getting better with tummy time, almost rolling over, bringing things to our mouth, and sucking on our toes... and it's only Tuesday!

You can't leave him for a moment or he is doing something new. I leave to workout and the nanny says he is eating his toes when I come back.

He is almost turning over, more like hanging out on his side. He does this in his swing too which scares me to death.

Check back to see what happens the rest of the week...

Gnome or Ready For Winter?

I bought this little hat for our New Zealand road trip. We tried it out today and boy did he love it. This kid is a chatter box, he was laughing and giggling the whole time we were trying to video chat with Dirk's parents. He was so loud no one could hear over him.

He is really a happy baby. We are fighting naps and both Dirk and I are missing the tired cues. Sleeping at night doesn't seem to be a problem just during the day. Time to dig into the books again, I would like him to stay a happy baby!

Christmas in Singapore

Every Christmas outside one of the malls in Singapore they make it snow soap suds for the kids.  We decided to check it out with our little family of three.

The older kids were all in their bathing suits splashing around in the soapy snow.  Dylan just watched.

We are really excited to stay in Singapore this year for Christmas, no traveling, no holiday, no Texas size road trips, just the Dunlap's hanging out for our first family of three Christmas.  We will miss our families dearly but time to start making our own traditions too!

New tradition in Singapore is a Christmas Day brunch and maybe a trip to the beach :)

Check out that mustache!

New Riding Style

I decided to change things up a bit and sit him in his stroller upright without the car seat attachment.  He LOVED it.  I was trying out this new canopy shield that blocks the UV rays for when we go to Thailand in a couple of weeks and also for our sunny walks around Singapore.  Never too early to block that nasty sun...

This was one happy baby.  He is so curious and alert, check out all that drool too :)

I finally bought some waterproof bibs today, so tired of a soggy baby.  We were changing onesie and bibs every 3 hours around here...
