Making new friends...

Dylan's friends keep popping up out of the wood work.... he is noticing more and more things around him.

Today it was the musical friends that hang from his car seat.  They kept him entertained for a whole hour!  The first time he was content sitting by himself without his pacifier.

We are already into the habit of being held all the time if we aren't asleep.

The stare down with the monkey :)

This one never leaves my side for some reason??

Dylan and Dirk

Hanging out with the mini me

All business today!

Wrinkles...

The wrinkles sure give this little guy personality and make him a spitting image of his daddy.

They are one of the most noticeable traits right now.

Why hello?

Rough Saturday Morning...

We found a new position to sleep in that we like.  It seems our little man likes to be held or at least until he is asleep.

This week he is 8 weeks old, sleeping in his own room where it is dark and quiet.  He is eating every 5-6 hours now at night and the first part of the morning.  I can finally get some good sleep but end up waking up in a panic because I hadn't heard the baby cry.  I then check on him every 10 minutes, thinking he will wake up any minute, nope just sleeps soundly.

He is easily settled, likes to be held upright and look around, and has an appetite like no other.  We are still breastfeeding, to my amazement!  He was a pro right from the start :)

Next week is the dreaded 2 month vaccines... I have many offers from my colleagues to hold him during these vaccines but I think Dirk is going to step up to the plate.  I will not be in the room!  Too many hormones to see my baby cry, just pass him over from the vaccine room to the breastfeeding room...

Still too small..

I know it will take some time before he properly fits into the Bumbo chair, but when he does, this is where he will be.  He loves to sit straight up and look around.  He takes in all the light and sticks that tongue of his out multiple times.

Almost there??
And no one can be mad at this face... doing some tummy time :)

Good Morning!

Mid Autumn Festival

Chinese Mid Autumn Festival

It is a festival of lights using lanterns, especially for the children.  Dylan got his own lantern with Bugs Bunny and Tweedy Bird on it.

We headed to the Chinese Gardens in Singapore with the Lyon's clan for the last night of the festival.  It seemed more like a carnival for the kids with lanterns and all sorts of Chinese traditions.  A fun way to spend a night in Singapore, stroller friendly.

The Dunlap's with Dylan's lantern in front of the dragon.

Loved these lanterns.

AGGIE Fan

A&M vs Idaho

We were all decked out in our Aggie gear cheering on our team from Singapore.

Today Dylan turned 7 weeks old and is now a whopping 7 lb. 13 oz.  He had his first cold this weekend which was pure torture for mommy, but looks like we made it through it.  Even made a humidifier purchase for $169, fun times living in Asia!

I freaked at the sound of a congested baby and took him to the doctor, I am sure I will be making many more first time mommy trips to the clinic... even though being a nurse, it is totally different when it is your child.  You second guess yourself left and right.  And just to clarify it wasn't torture because the baby was fussy sick, it was torture just seeing him so sick.  I can't stand seeing him in pain, vaccines are going to be tough.  I will be the one sitting in the breastfeeding room crying for sure!  I was the one who rushed to the doctor's office without her wallet, I always asked myself how people did that... now I know...

Dylan is, thank the Lord, a very easily settled baby and when he does cry it usually is for only a couple of reasons, reasons that I can usually figure out pretty fast.  I can't wait till he starts smiling at people.  Here are a couple of things he is doing at 7 weeks...

The tongue is in FULL force, sticking it out, licking, and moving it around.

He loves to sit up right and just look around, especially while being burped.  I can't wait till he can sit in his bumbo chair, he will be so content.

His hands are constantly in his mouth or around his face, he loves to have them close, just like when he was in the womb.  Almost every ultrasound his hands were next to his face or fingers in the mouth.

Still loving the bath tub.

Looking up at me and noticing more people.  He starred at Jessica Lyons forever the other night when she held him.

He knows who his mommy is for sure.  He is almost beside himself when we are about to feed but doesn't fuss just waits patiently with mouth open and ready to go.  He is such a patient little guy when he knows he is in my arms... just LOVE it.

All decked out.

Such a sweet picture.

Otto is still getting used to his little brother.

Tummy Time

It has been a rough day here, we have either developed a new habit or had some tummy issues last night. Either way, he is lucky he is so cute!

Looks Like???

I use to think my baby looked nothing like me until I took a couple pictures yesterday and saw some comparisons...  what do you think??

Christina at 6 weeks old
6 weeks old
Dylan 6 weeks old
This is the picture that tipped me off.  He kind of look like me at 6 weeks if you compare the first photo.  I do think my eyes were much bigger but the head shape and hair line are totally mine... maybe even the fuzzy eyebrows too.

Dylan 6 weeks old
Dirk- unsure of the age

Dirk was a chubby baby unlike our skinny Dylan
Dylan definitely has Dirk's face and expressions.
