First trip to Georgetown

April 20th, 2012: 8 months 4 weeks

Dylan and I got brave and headed for a three hour road trip to see the Boerckel's in Georgetown for the weekend.  I have decided that Dylan likes his own bed and familiar surroundings, I guess that is all part of getting older?  He did great on the car ride as usual, sang a couple of songs for me and then passed out.  It was just the sleeping over night in a new place that really got him so one night he ended up in my bed, just for the sake of everyone else sleep....

I love getting together with these ladies!  And I love even more that their husband's are some of Dirk's best friends from highschool and we all still stay in touch even though we live pretty far apart!  I could go on and on what I love about these families; we all have kids now and close in age at that, it's so easy to get together with them "just like old times", and they understand the kid part and totally help out!!

We had a relaxing couple of days, didn't even get back in the car, just hung out in the backyard, drank margaritas, and watched the kids play.  The girls liked to take Dylan's pacifier and watch him cry... it actually was pretty funny!  We need to toughen this little guy up for sure!

Easter

April 8th, 2012: Easter Sunday in Katy

We started out the day at First United Methodist Church Katy.  Dylan did great during the service, he loved all the singing, and was even quiet!  He is such a noise maker these days, practicing his singing and going through all the octaves.

It was a low key Easter for us since my mom just had her cornea transplant the week before and is still recovering.  Actually recovery is almost 3 months long...

Dylan enjoyed teething on the Easter eggs and seem to like his new toys as well.  We wrapped up the day with a late home cooked brunch and an early bed time.  I can't see an tooth coming in but boy, the fussiness, drool, and sleeping is in overdrive these days!

Happy Easter, He has RISEN!

Galveston Beach for Mimi's Birthday

March 24th-26th  Mimi's Birthday Weekend

We headed down to Galveston, Texas for a quick get away while my brother was in town and it was my mom's birthday.  Galveston seemed cleaner this time for some reason, maybe we have been abroad for too long??

Dylan met his uncle for the first time while we were there.  Uncle Ryan is living in Minnesota right now while he finishes his training with Emerson, he will be back in Houston in June.

It was a nice relaxing weekend!  The Lewis's came over Saturday and hung out all afternoon with us, meeting Dylan for the first time as well.  Dylan's great Uncle Jan also came out Sunday night for a birthday dinner at Giado's.
